Meet The Principal

Dr. Tammy Stellmach has served in public education for over 29 years: 15 of those years as a teacher, coach (volleyball, basketball, track, and fast pitch), and student advisor (student council, mentor programs, and service programs); 11 of those years as a middle school assistant principal; 2 years as an elementary assistant principal at Riverside Elementary School. Currently, she is the new Baxter Elementary School Principal. She obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Minnesota; Masters & 6th year degrees in Educational Administration from St. Cloud State University; and this summer completed a doctoral degree (EdD) in Education Administration and Leadership from St.Cloud State University. Mrs. Stellmach teaches as an adjunct for St. Mary’s University.

Tammy graduated from the same rural public high school as her grandmother - just 52 years later! Her grandmother served as a one-room school teacher and then as a parochial school teacher, and Mrs. Stellmach always knew she would follow her grandmother’s footsteps and become a teacher. Mrs. Stellmach has three children: Two are BHS graduates and one is a senior at BHS. Her husband is a mechanical engineer.

Tammy’s interests outside of school are hiking, exercising and nutrition, photography, being outdoors, and spending time with family and friends. Tammy believes in communicating “YOU MATTER” to students, parents, and staff. She has a passion for social emotional learning and promotes character education throughout the school environment.
